Fish provide nutrients for the plants and protien for humans. There are many different types of fish that can be used in aquaponic systems.
Types of Fish
When deciding what is the best species for you to grow, take the following fish into consideration:
Carp
Easy to breed, fast growing, hearty fish.
Goldfish
Sold at local pet shops or fish suppliers. Hearty fish. Non Edible.
Trout
An edible fast growing fish that prefers cooler water temperatures.
Carp
